This Mauritius 43 was built by Tom Shipman Ltd and Designed by Bruce Roberts.
She is of steel
construction with a long keel.
DISPLACEMENT: 16 Tons
When new fuel and water tanks were fitted the bilges were cleaned and
epoxy painted.
There is a holding tank.
Fuel: 500 ltrs in 2 wing tanks, fuel gauges in cockpit.
Water: Total of 500 ltrs in: 200 ltr S/Steel tank with new hot-weld
system 1997.
3 inter-connecting Vetus tanks (150 ltrs) new 1997.
2 inter-connecting Vetus tanks (150 ltrs).
Sleeps 7 in 2 cabins and saloon.
New non slip wood effect interior flooring, (2000).
Bulkhead between chainlocker and forepeak.
Fore cabin: 2 single berths, storage under & cupboards over.
To Stbd: Hanging locker and vanity unit, with draws cupboard &
mirror.
Heads: To port, shower, basin & Lavac toilet with diverter to
holding tank or direct. Cupboards, locker & mirror.
Saloon: Seating for 12. To port large seating area and dinning table,
bookshelves & cupboards.
To Stbd bench seat and pilot berth.
Navigation area: To port, chart drawer and seat.
Toolstore: To port with work bench, with access to engine.
Galley: To stbd, shelves, plate rack and cupboards, work surfaces
leading aft, access to engine.
ENGINE:
Perkins 4236 72h.p. 4 cylinder diesel, Bog Warner gear box.
New engine mounts, new shaft & shaft bearing, and Volvo shaft seal
fitted September 1998.
New starter motor fitted Nov 2000.
Steel hull 6mm, long keel.
Collision bulkheads fore & aft.
ELECTRICS: DC system is 24 volt.
All batteries new in 2002.
6x105A in 3 banks. Sterling 24V/30A battery charger.
Xandres electronic battery separator (not split diodes)
Prowatt 1500 watt inverter provides 230 volt from batteries.
240 wiring throughout, with external waterproof plug in cockpit for
shore power.
12 v wind charger, charges one battery at a time. Re-wired Nov 2000.

Hydraulic wheel.

A strong and sturdy liveaboard that for her age she appears to have
been well
looked after and maintained. Recent maintenance includes external
hull below the water line sand blasted to SA 2 and recoated with
800micr epoxy, bilges spotblasted were required and recoated
winter 2002, topsides/Deck/Coach roof coated with polyurethane 2002. The
FW tanks were relocated winter 2002 and some plumbing renewed. The
rudder was modified spring 2003.
