My name is Capt. Jerry Kundert Ihold a 100 ton captains license for motor, or auxilary sail vessels, and authorizes to engage in commercial assistance towing. I am a commercial diver and worked for "Miami Diver Underwater Ship Specialists" from 1986-2000 as a dive supervisor, and in-house captain of their 50'#1 hull, work vessel. Many of the ships we worked on were either dockside somewhere in the Bahamas, or underwas in an area where we would meet them at an agreed upon point, depending upon the repair. I took a sabbatical from "Miami Divers" from 1997-1998, and operated a 57' liveabord dive boat, taking twelve passengers a week to different dive sites in the Bahamas, covering either Grand Bahama, Northern Berries, and the Bimini chain, or the Bimini chain, Southern Berries, Andros, and Nassau. We dove all day, and ran at night. These trips left from either Ft. Lauderdale, or, Miami. I lived in the Fla.Keys, Sugarloaf Key, from 1970-1994. After 5 years of sailing Lake Ontario and Florida, decided to gain experience in Blue Water Sailing.
In 1997 participated in West Marine Passagemaker Seminar, in preparation for a 1500 mile Atlantic Ocean rally. Seminars cover topics related to Offshore passagemaking , such as strategies for success, preventive maintenance, navigation, heavy weather sailing and much more.
On November of 1997, participated in West Marine Caribbean 1500 Cruising Rally. Sailed a FREEDOM 35 with three other friends to Bermuda and on to the BVI and St Thomas. The sail from Hampton VA to Bermuda (650 miles) took 5 days under extreme heavy weather conditions. High winds (40 to 50 knots and seas 15 to 25ft) has damaged most of our sailboat equipment. FREEDOM 35 was taken out of Rally due to extensive repairs needed to continue the additional 900 miles to the BVI’s. Crewed on Morgan 45 to the BVI’s. to complete Rally. On May15,2001 delivered 49 ft. Hinckley from St. Thomas to Southwest harbor Maine. On Oct. 28, 2001 delivered same sail boat from Southwest Harbor Maine to Mystic Conn.

The sail from Hampton VA to Bermuda (650 miles) took 5 days under extreme heavy weather conditions. High winds (40 to 50 knots and seas 15 to 25ft) has damaged most of our sailboat equipment. FREEDOM 35 was taken out of Rally due to extensive repairs needed to continue the additional 900 miles to the BVI’s. Crewed on Morgan 45 to the BVI’s. to complete Rally. On May15,2001 delivered 49 ft. Hinckley from St. Thomas to Southwest harbor Maine. On Oct. 28, 2001 delivered same sail boat from Southwest Harbor Maine to Mystic Conn.
