By the same designer as the Tumlare, this classic was built, using an original hull and keel. The original was built for the New York boat show of 1937.

The current owner found the derelict hull in Larnaca Marina in Cyprus and copied it, Mr Knud  Reimers was contacted for any information on the design. He managed to trace 3 drawings of this series.

Knud Reimers 45' in the slings

Constructed in the Medcraft Boat yard Larnaca Cyprus.

The Hull was constructed using Wood Epoxy Saturation Technique

  • Hull construction - Cold molding –3 layers red meranti
  • Inner layer horizontal 12 mm thick
  • Second layer diagonal 6 mm thick
  • Outer layer diagonal at 90 degrees to the second layer 6 mm
  • A skin of woven fiber cloth epoxy saturated protected both inner and outer surfaces.
  • Additional reinforcement was given to the hull below the water line around the keel support area by laying inside biaxial fiber epoxy saturated.
  • WESSEX Epoxy Resins, UK, resins and fillers were used throughout the construction

The deck is of sandwich construction of 6 mm plywood (below deck), 2 layers of 15mm balsa wood saturated in polyester resin and fiber blanked saturated in polyester resin top side

Coach house roof  is a lamination of 3 no layers of 8 mm thick each marine plywood.

Keel (the original) cast iron 3000 kg (keel is semi enclosed with epoxy saturated fiber cloth)

Bulkheads 24 mm marine plywood.

V- berth, Head, Main living area, galley and aft berth  open plan.
Keel  cast iron 3000 kg.
